| Which one is good for off road use. There are so many now I used to own the original and I loved it. Now there is 3, 3+, silver, 4 and what ever else they have. |
|
4 has a lcd on the back that reduces the battery life.
3+ is older model and is solid. 3 is even older. gopro hero is their new entry level for $120 Basic differences are the video modes they offer. I have a 3+ black and I love it. They all will stand up to just about anything you throw at them and if it doesnt then they will replace it for you. It looks like they removed the 3+ Black from their site But you can still get them. |

I bought a 3 White edition last fall. Even though the 4 was on the horizon. The White does all I need at this point, and the big thing for me was it works with the phone app for control. I use it for motorcycling, mountain biking, and shooting. I make Incredibly Dull High Definition videos with it!

+1 for the 3+Black
and get the music edition it has better recording sound quality I figured my video capturing would be length over quality of video. standard is 1080. Mono, 48kHz, AAC compression with AGC (automatic gain control) Increased audio range by approx. 10dB compared to HERO3: Black Edition Handles approx. 2x greater volume without distortion compared to HERO3: Black Edition Supports 3.5mm stereo microphone via optional adapter (sold separately) just realized they no longer sell the model but you might find one in a music store. that is where mine came from. I then bought all the back plates and fronts. I had everything else from having an original gopro. GET THE DOG MOUNT IF YOU HAVE DOG also the orange float for the water or the snow or the deep leaves in the woods and make your own retention cables if you put it on your car or snowmobile |

dumb...dumb question....can you put a GoPro on a normal tripod?
and just about every YouTube GoPro vid I have seen of somebody shooting a USPSA or 3 gun match with it mounted to their head, the video has this really extreme fish eye's look to it. That absolutely annoys the shit out of me. It makes a 15 yard target look like it is at 50 yards instead. Is it possible to switch it out of that fish eye lens mode into a regular mode? |

Yes, if you want to buy another 200 dollar aftermarket lens and void your warranty. All action cams will have your fish as an effect of the standard 170 degree angle they all seem to shoot. |

Nah you can turn it off but it still has a bit in it but the app they give will take it out completely. Link |

I have the three plus I use offroading with the Jeep and Scuba Diving. It does very good video... I don't mind buying refurbished that offers the regular manufactures warranty. |
|
Thanks, It will be for off roading, camping and maybe put it on the dog, so not a lot. but I do want to make videos of my travels.

Also, offroading is nice with the Wifi that I can connect my phone and work the camera from inside the Jeep. Also it helps position it correctly when setting up.

This is the one I use with my Hero 3 White, and it's good for 9 hours of video at 1080p: |
|
Quoted: can someone lead me in the right direction for a Microsd card, I am looking at 64gb, and class 10. its for the Gopro 3+ black. |
|
Quoted:
Are these the best to get or are there others out there that are better? The Sony action can has image stabilization which really helps but has very limited Mounts and accessories compared to the gopro. Also battery lasts longer. I have both. Like both depending on application. Gopro is better under water. Sony is way better if there is motion like In vehicle s or walking. |
|
With it set on 1080, the 3+ black will last for 1-1 1/2 hours. a 32 will last that long?
Quoted:
I'd suggest 2-32s instead of the 64. There are often GoPro issues with the larger cards, and your battery probably wont last long enough to fill the 64 anyway. Quoted:
