Well got the new safe set in place, now looking at the golden rod is there one place better than other for installing the golden rod??

One of these two posts is a dupe.
Heat rises. Mount horizontally on the floor behind your rifles. There will be a gap in the back because your rifles will be leaning. Do not mount it where it will touch and dry out a wood stock.
