that is available on Amazon? I previously used Belhans rock hard table top varnish but its not available on Amazon. I will be refinishing my dining room table. |
Protecting privacy will come at a cost. Use encrypted email (Proton), messaging (Signal), and password manager (KeepassXC). Use a vetted VPN only!, Social media is mind poison.

How about an epoxy finish? I've never used this product but many varnishes are sensitive to the heat from the bottom of dishes and serving ware. Here’s a quick comparison: Durability: Epoxy is more durable and resistant to wear. Clarity: Epoxy provides a crystal-clear finish. Water Resistance: Epoxy is fully waterproof. Heat Resistance: Both are heat-resistant, but use trivets for very hot items. Ease of Maintenance: Epoxy is easier to clean and maintain. Cost: Polyurethane is less expensive upfront. This is made specifically for table tops, bars, counter tops, etc.

I'm wondering what the OP ended up with. Many are "afraid" of working with epoxy. Personally, I am dislike conventional varnishes because of the potential for them to not cure (see review comments at Amazon web site). One of my favorite furniture-grade finishes is Deft. The other favorite is shellac. I'm not sure either is suitable for a dining room table top because of sensitivity to high temperatures and alcohol. The thing is, if they are damaged, they are easily repaired, whereas, regular varnishes are not. |
