I need suggestions for a good but not too expensive portable DVD player for a long (international, 15-20 hour) flight. Seems like most of the DVD players have a battery that lasts 2-3 hours then you need a re-charge which is a problem on a plane or at the airport. Any ideas? GunLvr |
You won't get much more than 4-5 hours play on the player with the best battery life. Lots of airlines have power outlets on the plane, but you need a special adapter. |

If you don't have access to power, one alternative is to rig up a bunch of battery packs yourself. My portable DVD player has a DC input jack so I just went to Radio Shack and got a connector and then got some of the 8.4V sub-c packs used by RC car guys. Much cheaper than purchasing one of those commercial add-on batteries sold by Best Buy. |
lol, I can just see trying to get a ghettorigged battery pack like that through security nowadays.. Good idea though. |
Hehe - that's why I use commercially packaged battery packs. I don't think I'd try to bring my custom-made, duct-taped, hanging-wires battery packs past TSA either! |
