Assuming this is in google maps? The google earth application has a timeline slider that gives more information, I can't remember if it tells you the exact date of the photo or not though.

If think Bing has the mth. and yr. on the bottom of the pic. I like Bing maps more too.

I just compared Google Maps to Bing Maps. Google Maps has the correct road layout but the satilite photo is out of date. Bing is the opposite.
