This needs to go viral. I can understand Google's upper management being left-leaning. What I can't understand is Google not returning factual data its search engine. I understand adwords and pay-to-play when searching for products and services. Googling "Presidential candidates" is something that a 4th grader could be instructed to do in order to put together a school report. It is beyond wrong that the factual results don't show up. I have emailed several news sources about this. We need to get this out to the general public! |

Do the same search on Bing and not only do you get the 4 candidates, but clicking on the pictures provides a summary of their stances relative to polling on particular issues. Plus, if you have an account with Microsoft you can get points for every search and eventually get enough for Amazon gift cards and other rewards. But, you're still "selling" your info but maybe to a lesser evil?

According to Google, the omissions were the result of a "technical bug" in the Knowledge Graph, the massive information-mapping system that provides the top results bar under many fact-based searches. "Only the presidential candidates participating in an active primary election were appearing in a Knowledge Graph result," a Google spokesperson said in a statement. "Because the Republican and Libertarian primaries have ended, those candidates did not appear. This bug was resolved early this morning." Umm..the democratic primary is also over. |

For me, "presidential candidates" shows exactly what you have, with the addition of Trump in the first position.
Searching "presidential candidate" however, brings up a picture of Clinton and a story about her nomination putting the "biggest crack in the glass ceiling". The third story is about Trump being left out of the search and Google fixing it. |
