I've been snorting cold water from the tap every morning to clean everything out for over 10 years––––––––same principle––––––-resulting in noticeably less Upper Respiratory Infections and improvement of symptoms when I do have an infection.

It takes a little getting used to at first but its worth it.

yea, honestly I just use a Smartwater bottle with squeeze bottle top and add 1.5 teaspoons of kosher salt. Works perfect.

And yes it does work, cured my seasonal allergies.

oh and I had a nasty cold and was starting to get a sinus infection, used the home made squeeze bottle neti and it cleared the infection right up. My cold was gone in 2 days while others around me took over a week to get rid of it.

I just do it the old fashioned way with a spoon and a small cup.  Went from tons of sinus infections to almost none in one year.  If you maintain good hi gene, take your vitamins, and do your nasal douche every day, you dont have to miss work every time some bug or another is going around.

Nasal irrigation is a very good thing to do.

If you want to take this procedure to a much higher level utilize a nebulizer with a 10 ppm colloidal silver solution.

I would recommend Omron's battery powered unit.  Inhale the mist through your nostrils and also allow the mist to go into your lungs.

We use one.  But when infection is developing, I mix some cayenne pepper in water and snort it.  JUST A LITTLE BIT of pepper.  You will know if you use too much.  But it works.  It is an antibiotic and antiseptic, and stimulates blood flow.

Cayenne will also cause a bad cut to coagulate and stop the blood flow.  Doesn't burn much on the skin that way.

This.  If you really want to top up your sinuses, buy a cheap squeeze bottle with a pointy tip, and mix your own solution (~1/4 tsp kosher or pickling salt, and ~1/8 tsp baking soda in 8 oz warm water).  Tip your head back (instead of leaning forward as with the neti pot or Neil-Med bottle), and fill 'er up.  See if you can hold it a while.  That'll really hit those upper sinuses.

You need to lean forward a little more...you'll get it.

The Neti inventor should have gotten a Nobel prize, not the Kenyan. It 'fixed' my sinuses...I haven't needed it in 2+ years after using it to clear up a sinus infection. AMAZING!

My wife's ENT prefers she use the Neil-Med bottle.  She's had three good sinus surgeries now with the promise of more in the future, but sinus irrigation seems to be helping her to maintain the condition of her newly renovated ductwork far better than had been the case in the past.

Perfect soundtrack though

I've been blasted in the face prettu hard by ocean waves, and my nose would expel a streaming waterfall of snot.  Same principle I guess?

No way could I do that intentionally though.  They'll be sued out of existence when someone drowns if they advertise like that.

Seems like you could do the same thing with one of those tiny blue baby bulb basters though (usually sold with Murine ear cleaner).

*This might be bullshit, but aren't nasal passages able to pass chemicals SUPER FAST through the body?  Sodium, caffeine, and alcohol additives might be a bad idea for some (?)

Until someone smart chimes in, this'll be in the colon-cleansing column for me.  nvm

I have never tried it. It has been suggested to me since I have a deviated septum and have always had sinus issues and headaches. Just the thought of the thing makes me gag.

+2.  I've been using a squeeze bottle off and on for a few years now.  It's good to mitigate the effects of my allergies and definitely helps clearing up sinus infections.  Instead of the allergens or germs staying up in your head festering, the solution flushes them out.

Colloidal silver may be the single most effective anti bacterial/virus/fungal agent there is.  Spending a half hour searching peoples experiences with it will verify that.
Every time there is a post about it, the same morons post the same picture of the guy who used a compound of silver instead of elemental silver to solve a health problem that he had.  He used the wrong shit!
If you have never tried colloidal silver you should.  Idiots like the above are the reason why many people don't.
Using a Neti Pot for nasal irrigation is a very beneficial thing to do.  I started doing it about 20 years ago. Basically it flushes out much of the bacteria that is present in your sinus cavities making it easier for your immune system to keep infections under control.  But it does not kill any unwanted organisms and you have to do it regularly.
Adding a bit of colloidal silver to your salt water flush solution will kill any bacteria/virus/fungus that it comes in contact with.  I have used it in the flush and it improved the results a lot.  But for the past couple of months I have stopped flushing (Neti Pot) and have been using a nebulizer with just the colloidal silver and it has helped me to a point that my sinus are completely clear.
Breathing the mist with a nebulizer also allows the silver to reach your lungs.....it works the same way there.
It is my experience with it....use it or not....do your own research on it and don't take my word for it. It could possibly save your life.

The "single most effective anti bacterial/virus/fungal agent there is"? That's pretty strong, and yet the only thing behind that statement is a half hour searching personal stories ––anecdotal evidence. Shouldn't there be independent medical studies to back up something like the "single most effective anti bacterial/virus/fungal agent there is"?

My doctor recommended the sinus rinse, but he never said anything about adding colloidal silver or anything else to it.

OK do a full days search on it.  Then post a topic and say what you have learned.  Become an expert with it.  It is worth the time.
Yes there should be all kinds of scientific studies done on it except no one can obtain a patent on it and as a result no one including our government will spend the money to do it.  The government represents the pharmaceutical companies and not you.

The health benefits of silver have been known for thousands of years.  The only problem with it is that doctors and hospitals can not use it until someone does a study on it which will never happen.
