Anyone else watching this? I really like it so far. Does a nice backstory on Gordon and is properly dark enough to be true to the original Batman comics. I also like how they set the stage for a truly fucked in the head, angry Bruce Wayne. |

Network TV will never be as good as a cable show, but for what it is they are doing a great job and it's a must-watch for me. Still, Arrow > Gotham > Flash > Agents of Shield. DC is knocking it out of the park with their TV shows, Marvel is better this year but still AOS suffers from lack of direction and lack of superheroes/villains of merit. Also it seems targeted at an audience of children at times and adults at others, which is bizarre. Gotham dumped a lot of big names in the first episode, but so far they have been conservative in their use of them, which is a good thing. I like the reimagined Penguin, and especially like Harvey Bullock, he really nails the character. For those complaining about Gordon, he is supposed to be a white knight, his unassailable goodness is what draws Batman to trust him in the first place. I'll take my nerd hat off now. |

The only weak character is Gordon. He just doesn't have that over the top, cartoon character presence that all the others seem to have and he comes off dull by comparison. In a city of bad guys, there NEEDS to be at least one good guy. Click To View Spoiler |
