Perhaps someone who is a bit more savvy than I in these matters can explain a phenomenon that occurs when I attempt to check AR15.com from my work computer.
In the middle of the night, sometimes there is nothing to do in the ER but a bit of benign surfing until the next patient shows up. My .gov computers are equipped with filters and foils for a lot of sites, but for the most part gun sites are OK. The problem is that when I attempt to check in here (even via the reflector –– jobrelatedstuff.com) the system will just act like it is searching for the site and then tell me that there is a connection error. No filter block or warning messages, it just will not come up. The weird thing is –– I can logon to FALFILES, XD Forum, Gunbroker, Auctionarms, 1911 Forum, Glocktalk, and even eBay without any trouble. But ARFCOM just idles like it cannot be found. Any ideas why? Is it because ARFCOM is monitored by so many govt agencies that my request never makes it here? I feel that resolving this situation could really enhance my post-count, so –––– somebody help! Thank you. |

I have the same issue here. It's kind of funny, when I first arrived here, ARFCOM wouldn't work here in my building where I live, so I had to enjoy it at work. Then sometime late last spring, the internet provider made some "upgrades", and suddenly ARFCOM worked fine at my building, but a few months later it stopped working at work. To this day, it doesn't work. But yeah, I have the same issue as you. Sites that are blocked immediately come up with a webpage saying it has been blocked. ARFCOM never gets that page, it just sits there for a long time trying to open until it times out. |
