Anyone done it?  Looking for a little advice.

I haven't done it but it seems to be a solid novice/intermediate program.  I'd actually go so far as to say I'd recommend it before SS to a brand new novice.

The AMRAP sets let you get the optimal training stimulus for whatever it is that you're capable of that day, the 2x a week squatting spurs progress without the burnout associated with heavy squatting 3x a week, the squats done AFTER the main upper body lift (bench or press) means that your squats don't fatigue you and fuck up the rest of your workout, the curls will build big strong arms while also satisfying 90% of trainees aesthetic needs (all while not detracting from the progress on the big compounds), and when done with frequency method chin ups you get a lot of arm and upper back work in that SS neglects.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the neck harness 3x a week... I'm sure it wouldn't hurt but I also don't know if it's really necessary, either.

Won't be doing neck harness but wondering about adding dips (bench dips not dips on the "machine")

Also wondering if doing cardio on the off days is a bad idea.

I'm an advanced lifter but I'm looking for something new and have been out for three weeks due to a back strain (much better now).  Thinking about doing Greyskull for 8-12 weeks to break some of the plateaus I've hit.

No offense, but if you're an advanced lifter, why are you wondering about cardio effects on your lifts? Why are you subbing out parts of the program?

I've been lifting on and off for over ten years, and have tried various programs.  I've had some injuries along the way that lead to prolonged leaves of absence from the gym.  I'm looking to simplify things a bit and try something new.  I did Starting Strength several years ago after a year off and liked it, and Greyskull looked interesting.  I get bored easily in the gym and if I can swap accessory exercises every few weeks then that will keep me on track and interested.  I was wondering about the cardio because a.> I hate it and b.> a lot of lifters are on the fence about burning tons of calories.  However, my goal is not size, but strength, so I'm not too worried about burning off body mass with light cardio.  I see it as active recovery.  Probably going to do rowing 30 minutes a day on off days.  I was just curious if anyone here had tried Greyskull, or a modification of it.

I have not, but if you want simplicity and strength, check out 5/3/1.

Thanks.  I've been reading forums regarding the differences guys are seeing in results using the two programs.  I'll probably start with Greyskull but 5/3/1 is also on the short list.
