I only have experience with using a Blackstone (and it's never been my own), and I have thoughts:
First, the Blackstone seems fine to me. It works as advertised - it's
even-enough heat underneath a hunk of steel.
Second, every time I've used one, has been in a "campout" situation with other Arfcommers. i.e. - I'm cooking for a lot of people, and somebody was nice enough to bring one along. So I'll use it.
At home, I've just never felt the need to dedicate the space to it. It'd mostly collect dust and precious patio space, in my cookie cutter North DFW suburban tract house.
I do enjoy cooking on it, but it's one of those deals where I'm like "This is really only useful to me, when I'm cooking for more than like 4 people". And that's just not something I do often enough, to warrant owning one.
But for the handful of times that I've used a Blackstone, it seems fine to me.
