Please tell me I'm wrong:
If congress continues to be gridlocked after November, will it really matter who is in the white house? Congressional gridlock will not work with either Obama or Romney. Shouldn't we be more concerned with "unsticking" congress so that SOMETHING can get done. The financial cliff will be the first big test. So far it isn't looking that it will be worked out smoothly. I'll bet the rest of the world will be laughing at us. |

Previous Presidents have been able to work with Congress even when it was controlled completely by the opposition.
If after the election we have a President who is a leader, and not a sniveling little piece of shit, he will be able to get stuff done. That may or may not be a good thing. |

The more time they spend doing nothing the better. Right after they roll back Obamacare. That's exactly what 'm saying. Congress is the one to revoke it, not Romney. If congress is still gridlocked, Obamacare is here to stay even if Romney wins. |

The more time they spend doing nothing the better. This. It would be fantastic if they just sat around doing nothing. For the love of god stop passing laws. Every year we just push it a little closer to the next disaster because of a bunch of useful idiots in Congress trying to legislate us into a utopia. |

The more time they spend doing nothing the better. Exactly. Except for repealing half the laws and half the spending, but that is never going to happen, so I would be almost as happy if they all spend the rest of their lives stuck in traffic getting nothing done. |
| Obama has repeatedly said if Congress won't pass what he wants that he will go around them...and he has. Tons of executive orders as well as having the different agencies just make up new regulations on their own. Obama will be much worse about this the second time around if he wins. |

I think it'd be better if congress only met for 6 months every 2 years or so.
Then, only address the budget and any Pressing issues. They could call an emergency session if we get attacked or something, but otherwise, no sitting around coming up with new laws. All of the agencies (BATFE, FCC, FAA, etc) can no longer make unilateral changes in their regulations, must hav congressional approval. This is after ObamaCare is repealed, of course. I'll be happy with Congress "doing no harm" for quite a while compared to them trying to "do something" (never turns out the way Citizens want). |
|
If that happens just have the DOJ investigate some of the libtards, file charges, and arrest them(we're talking about Democrats here, they are guilty of something that can have them arrested and removed from office). Then "convince" the Governors to appoint the correct people to finish out the term. |

The original intent was to have Congress only pass legislation that was overwelmingly desired by the populace. I would love to see it go back to that. Came to post that. Gridlock is a design feature of the system. It's supposed to prevent runaway stupidity like Obamacare, but "we" were dumb enough to elect a bunch of Democrats and dumb enough to adopt the 17th Amendment, so the gridlock feature doesn't always function like it should. |

The more time they spend doing nothing the better. Normally I would say yes, but there are a ton of tax cuts that expire on 12/31/2012. Sequestration also isn't going to be fun to deal with if Congress does nothing, though IMO it needs to happen - and I'm a FedGov contractor. |

Probably less than a Klondike Bar's chance in the furnaces of hell, but it's about the only thing that's keeping me from flying a 747 into the Capitol dome. |
