I'm seeing ads on Chris Bartocci videos. He's gun-only. They had been removed of his before.
So, did Google decide to roll with us gun people for now? Thanks to $$$$ of course! |

In response to adpocalypse, it's highly likely google ran out a genghis kahn algorithm that wantonly demonitized ALL THE THINGS as a sort of tourniquet to stem the bleeding. It's highly likely they are engaged in a continual effort to refine the algorithm to hit fewer innocents. The core problem is that youtube has had no meaningful communication with anyone about what they are doing, so everyone is left to assume the worst. It is useful, though, in illustrating the precariousness of depending on youtube as a revenue stream because they can change the rules at any time for any reason, and frequently do and without notice. So you're left guessing. |

Still no ads showing on MAC.... So I don't know. ETA: Chris Bartocci is GREAT, but dwarfed by MAC's number of subscribers. They'd fix MAC before Chris' channel... Neither of them have the kind of subscriber and view counts that are going to make Google undertake a special effort. Youtube has been hit with appeals from literally tens of thousands (conservative estimate) of creators in the last week or so...and I have a feeling most of them are being handled in a first come, first serve manner. |

Basically have to publicly shame them with people that get more numbers then prime time TV for them to get motivated. |

It happened. I have a little channel with clips I used for articles and to embed here on ARFCOM and I had videos spontaneously demonitized: http://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/37749/demonitized-184330.jpg You don't get any notification that this happened...it merely happens and you have to check the back end of your channel to see it and deal with it. So I have absolutely no trouble believing that they were demonitized. I don't know that google intends on leaving things that way forever, but since google has not communicated at all you have no choice but to assume this is the new reality. That said, I am not buying a complete demonitization at this point on all things gun. It may happen, it might have already happened, but there shouldn't be any doubt (show it like everybody else does). Trust, yet verify. Or they can just ride the wave of paranoia in an attempt to collect more cash. ETA: A 40 second vid is a bad example no matter the content. |

Go to a Youtuber's channel and see their video list. Scroll down to the bottom and turn on restricted mode. MAC's and several others I've checked - not even gun related - have 99% of their videos disappear in that mode. (It's not a good indication of demonitization) |

Just checked on a very large video game channel and all but one disappeared. Quoted:

| Chris Bartocci is an amazing source of information and direct industry knowledge, but he really really needs to work on his speaking. Every other word he says is "umm" or "uhh" and once you notice how often he does it the videos are hard to watch. Dude needs to type or write a brief script or something. |

True but I've found I can ignore that for the information in between. I didn't think I'd want to watch 2 hours on how the M4 came about and the trials and tribulations regarding it but damn I did. |
