Santa Cruz makes locks and mounts for LE too.   This might be something that could work in some circumstances.

At the very least, a good way to lock up a Home Defense Weapon.

How does that lock keep the semi-auto shotgun from being loaded and fired?  I'm thinking in our context: kids in the house.  Seems silly to lock up a shotgun in this manner but have to keep the shells locked up as well.

Doesn't look like it locks the trigger out at all. I'll pass.

Don't care if those are one way screws or not.....reasonable sized pry bar and they pop right out of the wood.....gun goes with me for removal
of incidental attachements at a later time.

I think this product is full of fail.

Those little screws are not going to hold all that well with even a minor crow bar.  the corner helps  but isn't going to be enough.

If you are going to use that basic concept heavy ass lag screws into studs, or bolts all the way through to a large plate on the other side are your first line of defense against prying off.

Many houses have back to back closets, so the through plate is a good possibility.  What you can then do is tap the holes in the plate so the through the wall screws can fasten in to that and then you can run another nut down on that for more security,

If the guy(s) have more than pry bars and are in there for more than a few minutes then they can probably defeat most safety measures, but it doesn't take too much to delay and/or defeat pry bars.

Your best bet for securing firearms without a gunsafe is to remove the bolts and hide them.

Plus you'll create a little hilarity for some police officers when an Urban Youth tries to shoot them with a bolt-less AR.
