Which Gun Magazines do you all read and subscribe to?

I usually don't subscribe to gun magazines however I usually pick one up at the gas station or grocery store if I see one that fits my fancy. Although every now and again I will get a subscription, so that made me wonder what the Hive reads!

Please post a link to the website of the magazine if you will too so those of us who are interested could maybe pick up a subscription!

none except the NRA mag.

Sometimes I pick up an American Handgunner or a shooting times, but they don't impress me much.

all the reviews are driven by the Advertising Dept.

Gun Tests (subscription only) is flat out the best one out there if you are looking for actual unbiased weapon evaluations. The buy them off the shelf and test them vs similar brands. Nearly every other gun magazine is testing manufacturer supplied samples meaning the sample weapons have generally gone through much higher QC than similar models you may find on the shelf.

They are usually a couple months behind in testing the newest firearms, simply because they wait for them to appear in stores first. This is often a good thing because you get more realistic evaluations, for instance, not every rifle they test shoots a .5 MOA three shot group with every type of factory produced ammunition (they actually average multiple five shot groups - try to get any other gun magazine to do this).

I enjoy reading other publications to find out about new products, but I completely disregard nearly all of the performance evaluation because it is usually very biased in the favor of the manufacturer and makes accuracy claims even an Olympic marksman couldn't reproduce.

I get American Rifleman (like everyone) and Small Arms review.

I'll pick up one of the others if there is an article about something I am interested in.

I can get most of the information that are in the gun mags off the internet, for free.

I hate to burst you bubble, but I know that is not true in all cases. I have spoken with some manufacturers who supplied them review samples just like
any other magazine.....

I like Small Arms Review
SWAT
Shotgun News
Book of the AR-15 (annual)
Combat Arms (annual)
Tactical Guns and Gear (annual)

Guns and American Handgunner are my two favorites.

I buy Shooting Times as well - in all it's not that great of a publication, but their articles by Allan Jones (ballistics) and Reid Coffield (gunsmithing) make it worth the cover price.

It's all bathroom reading except for GunTests IMO. I subscribe to a few since it's only ~$1/month for something to flip through while 'taking care of business'.

I will never subscribe to G&A or Shooting Times again because I was fucked out of year buy a telemarketer hired by them to sell subscriptions. No help from them and good luck hearing back from the 3rd party.
