The electronic lock on my Cannon safe to a dump over the weekend. At first, I thought it was the battery, but I tried two different new batteries with no luck. The keypad works sporadically and even when I get it to take my code, it doesn't recognize it. I called the factory today and the tech asked if I could open it . Uh.....no, that's why I'm calling. They are sending a free replacement and installation is simple, but the door must be open. If I can't get it open, I'll have to call a locksmith and of course, that won't be free. Anyone ever have this problem?

I had a mech lock fail on my Liberty safe.  They sent the best lock they had to replace it and sent a lock smith to do the work for free.  It was painless,  other than the fact that I couldn't plink over the fourth of July.

I had my HD pistols out though.

I have no experience with Cannon safes.

Very common for Cannon, that is the price you pay for a budget safe.

They do indeed have a lifetime warranty, you just better hope the lock craps out before you close it, or you're paying for the locksmith.

Just to be clear, I haven't tried to service mine or had it serviced in over 20 some years.  Using/opening it more recently so probably should have it done.
