In the 1980's I had a Ruger Mark I with an AMT stainless bull barrel. It was beautiful and I loved it.

I lost it when the stitching failed on a saddlebag, never felt it leave while trotting on a horse.

I've always wanted to replace it, but never seemed to have the spare cash, or made other choices.

Went to a small local gunshow yesterday and found a deal to good to pass up.

It has some discoloration of the bluing on one side of the barrel, and a few nicks and dings, in other words, it looks like I've owned it for a while...

I also picked up a set of genuine Ruger rings for $40 for  this beauty in 7mag that my FIL bought me as a gift 2 months ago, so I can finally get it to the range.

And another 1000 CCI large Rifle for $30

All and all, a good day!

I have that same pistol and it's probably the most accurate gun I've ever owned. My grandfather bought it probably 40 years ago for not much less that you scored it for.

Very nice!

Please tell me you are not one of the numbskulls that cannot re-assemble them without endless bitching and failure.

They are no modern pistol that falls to pieces with ease, but are still far from being a problem.  It's all about the position of the hammer strut folks, look at it and comperhend where it needs to go.  Do this, and it's easy, do it not, and you'll be hopelessly trying to cram a square peg into a round hole.

Looks like the one I have except mine has a set of aftermarket wood grip panels and is the bicentennial model.  I bought it new back in '76 for $99.00.

The wife is a inexperienced shooter, she has enjoyed my Single Six in the past, so I think this will be a good training tool for her, as well as my 11 & 12 yo childrens.

Happy happy happy!
