Went to the northern Virginia(Chantilly Expo Center) gun show today. Ought to be called a shit show, because that's what it was.
$13 entry(or $1 off if you remember to print off a coupon). There's a few things we all see: -Fatties in sweatpants -Beef jerky -Strollers They are now up to two god damn beef jerky stands. All with sales people who can't stop giving you the special maneuvers on how to "savor" your sample of scrap meat. There's a new twist to just the body odor--people soaking themselves in deer musk. Holy fuck, it was like being at the zoo near the elephants. Caught the strong whiff of marijuana from a few people who clearly looked like they had more than misdemeanor records. One salesperson was clearly high, pupils dilated, flushed skin, and fucked up big time. A few odors of alcoholic beverages from patrons as well. The big "CLIPS" table with overpriced magazines. Yes, "CLIPS" is their big store sign. Deals? Holy fuck no. $13 admission, Wolf gold 223 for $320+ a case. "Armor piercing" PMC Xtac for $400 a case
Terrible gun prices with the same jerks selling Chinarific accessories. It was awful. I also blame the Showmasters group that organizes the gun show every two months. They cater to this shit and I witnessed a few less than friendly interactions. Anyhow, if anyone local is planning to go, don't waste your time. After shipping/transfer fees, you'll still come out ahead on almost all firearm purchases. It's almost all fake garbage. Knives are way overpriced as well. The only thing I left with was the stamp on my hand for admission. Very few hot girlfriends working the tables also. |

Quoted:
I paid $6 to get into the one here and another $49.95 for an Anderson lower for my son. I was the fattest fatty, but I showered before heading out. People there were nice. Good shops like Quantico Tactical are there, I should throw them a bone. They honor their good prices at the show and can get the lowers on good pricing. |

Quantico usually shows up here in Harrisonburg and I usually pick up pmags from them at a good price. |

Gunshows are always good for a giggle and there are plenty of people to keep you entertained. http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz55/ma96782/AR15dotcom/if%20you%20voted%20for%20OBAMA.jpg(stolen picture) But then, the entry price is getting more prohibitive. Not to mention the laws that infringe on my collecting and trading. Aloha, Mark That and 3% surcharge on most purchases if you don't pay cash. Fucking unreal, these shops are run by a lot of pieces of shit employees. |
