Hello I have looked all over but cant find any info, Right now my gun safe is in the basement. I want to move it to my office which is on the first floor, My question is how much weight is safe to put on the first floor. I don't believe there are any beams under where I want to put the safe. I just don't want to be asleep and here one hell of a thud as it goes through the floor lol. So what is the limit. Cause I have around 12 rifles and 10 hand guns and don't want to use a cabinet as they are not inexpensive guns all over $1500

Or is there a super secure gun cabinet that is made ?

If safe is a 25 size (30w x 25d x 60h) I wouldn't go any more than 700lbs on a 16" on center 2 x 10 floor. If its a 35 size (36w x 28d x 60h) I wouldn't do anymore than 900lbs on the same floor.

I've put 1300lbs safes on wood floors before. But they have had support under them.

depends entirely on how much your safe weighs and how your home is built.

Don't know the weight limit....But I definitely don't want to take a chance of having a big safe on any higher floor, except the ground floor or basement.

So best bet is to leave in the basement that is unfinished and spend all winter turning it into a game/gun room :O)

You have 22 gun's and not one has a value under $1500 no need to try and impress us, a lot of guys here have only 1 or 2 cheap guns, it's OK

As to the safe, I would guess it would be fine. You are spreading the weigt out over a lot of square inches, The feet on your bed (occupied) most likely puts more weight then the safe would.

ETA: I will save you the trouble. Yes, I am a dick

When i said $1500 that includes accessories as most are ar's with scope ect . As for the handguns I collect H&K and colt 1911's . I invest my money in guns not the stock market :O).
