Hmmm . . . I didn't run a search. Hope that's okay . . . ! ![]() Quick question, though . . . I live in PA and have been thinking of "storing" a couple firearms around the house - for quickie access. (There have been several break-ins and even a home-invasion, or two: locally - even though I live in a pretty rural area) If I were to keep a handgun sitting loaded in a drawer/easily accessed recess or an AR, say, on a high shelf in a front closet . . . is that legal? FWIW, I DO have a young daughter - with absolutely no interest in guns. So, if she'd see one of them, she'd have no reaction - other than leaving it alone and moving on. Were she to have friends over, I'd (most likely), get the weapons back into the safe - while they were visiting. (but, maybe not . . . depends, I guess!) If this IS illegal, that would suck - since, getting to my safe would be pretty tough, were hoodlums to smash in our front door and come pouring into our house! Seems to me, the only other option would be wearing a handgun - at all times (a none too practical option). Any words of wisdom someone (more learned than I on the subject), would like to share? ***Thanks in advance! |
I have a couple stashed around my place - I don't know whether it's "legal" or not in PA ..... probably is ......... I really don't care .... CCW rules shouldn't apply and it is legal to open-carry in PA .... Best to re-post over in the "Penna" forum under "Hometown" ..... NOT GD ..... |
| I carry 24/7 since several dirt bags showed up in front of my home looking for somebody whom I doubt even lives in my neighborhood. This was last spring. Since then a friend of mine was recently killed in Williamsport PA, last month when some psycho drove around town and shot 7 different people in at least 4 different places in town in a 13 minute time span. I don't know if Randy had any time to react, but I'd like to think that in a similar incident I want the ability to react, even if its the last thing I ever do. Keep your powder dry, and your weapons handy! |
