Found some interesting points in this article, but the basis of the whole thing has me a bit stirred up.... looking forward to some fellow arfcommers ringing in.
"The rifle that today's infantry uses is little changed since the 1960s—and it is badly flawed" ...
I understand the issue that these rifles showed some issues at the beginning, but reading further into this guys claims is, well... See for yourself. |
| It's all typical guns shop purse swinging BS. I bet he thinks A1's were made by Mattel too. If you don't maintain your weapon it'll fail at some point. The initial flaws in the M16 was the huge mistake of marketing it as maintenance free. Most of its legitimate problems are fixed in todays m4's and as long as you keep the action lubricated, you're probably not going to get many rifle related malfunctions. Most malfunctions in a working rifle boil down to magazine malfunctions or improper care/manipulation from what ive seen. |

Towards the end, I just scrolled down to see what his closing points were. Since there were none, I pretty much deem the article void. This guy sounds to be partial to the AK platform....and is just stoking the fire a little bit. |
