Anyone know who does a gunsmithing school.  I found a couple "at home"  courses, but im looking for an actual in person instruction course.  If anyone knows where i can go or has any information i would really appreciate it.  Thanks

I've often heard that the best is offered at a school on Colorado.  CO School of Mining or something like that.

I attended Lassen Community College in Susanville CA.  I completed the entire program in 2 years.  It covers just about everything you need to know to be a gunsmith.  The classes are set up in 1 week blocks so you can take a week off of work and get credit for the entire class.   For the 2 year program, the first 6 weeks you learn basic machining on the mill and lathe.  Then you do 3 weeks of welding, oxy aceteline and TIG.  Then you do hardening and tempering of metals, Bluing, parkerizing, and Teflon coatings.  After all that is out of the way you learn ell the gun systems, for example: straight blowback, delayed blowback, rollerlocking, single action, double action, you get the idea.  I learned design, function, and repair on just about everygun there is.  You also do bedding, clandestine weapons, armorers full auto, the list goes on and on.  It was a lot of fun and Susanville is in the mountians away from the big cities, so the local cops are cool with the whole "assult weapon" thing, If you are a gunsmith student.  The other cool part is that after you become a California resident each class only costs 23.00$.  I recieved 2 AS degrees in Firearms repair and General Gunsmithing.  I am now working for www.usord.com and having the time of my life.

Tagged.  Would be sweet if there was like a 1-week course for a specific firearm -- That way I could actually do something cool over spring break.
