What are you guys paying per month/year ? The fees where I live now seem pretty steep compared to Orlando. Could be normal for most.
|
In O-town I was paying 20 per month or they would have specials for 120 per year. Out here in CO they want between 400 and 750 a year. I've just been doing body resistance and dumbbells in the living room lately. ETA 75 per month is not going to happen, I'll add a room on the house and buy equipment for that much. |

I go to 24hr Fitness. They had some deal last summer where you could get in for $17/month but had to pay for three years up front. So I'm paying $17/month, and can go to any 24hr in the country except for one mega 24 in California. I think I saw Gold's locally advertising $20/month, but I don't know what the fine print was. |

I didn't think of this when I posted earlier, but I think it makes a difference if you're looking at a gym versus a "fitness center." A small or medium sized place with a bunch of free wieghts, some machines, a couple treadmills, and maybe a tanning bed, is usually going to be cheaper than the place with daycare, olympic size swimming pool, hot tub, indoor running track, 9,999 machines, and 3 acres of treadmills. If you want all that, you may be paying $75 a month or more and require a long-term contract, if not, you could get away with some hole-in-the-wall joint just going month to month. Just something to consider. |

I am paying $39.95 a month + a $19.95 "enrollment fee" (@ the beginning) PLUS a $25 "facility improvment fee" at the end of year. BUT, I live in a rural area and it is the only game within 20 miles so I can't complain. |
My old gym in FL was just a place serious people and "Meatheads" went to pick up something heavy. Not a fashion show at all. It was all I needed for killing time while traffic died down. One thing that made me laugh was a shitload of treadmills and stationary bikes 3 miles from the CO National monument and some of the best Moutainbike trails in the country. People would rather be inside than do the real thing in a beautiful location.

It snows in CO doesnt it? Its kinda hard to ride or run with a foot of snow. |

Free. I got sick and tired of paying so I took the plunge and converted a room to a home gym. Heading up there shortly... Bought a treadmill, bench, handweights, bar, dip rack....In the long run, it's well worth it to stay at home...the ONLY thing I miss about the gym is my trainer. |
$103/month. I know, I know. But, but, it's a health club...with lots of tennis courts, racketball courts, basketball courts, 5 classes studios , two pools, lots of free weights, lots of machine weights, lots of cardio machines, and more...Blake |
I feel you dude; this sounds like my gym. I go to Golds and it's the only game in town (with the exception of a couple of dungeons.) I hate going there. |
