I just heard on major radio brodcast KFI AM 640 an alert to computer users that on sunday july 6 there will be a contest among hackers to disrupt and hack into as many or hi profile targets as possible.via internet.

I cannot confirm this but I thought I would pass this along, maybe some here can confirm or deny this report by a major news outlet.

No, not a panic, just thought I'd pass it along since I heard it on major radio and not someones rumor from a friend of a friend. do as you will. I'm sure it's nothing.[;D]

I read about that somewhere (might have been  yahoo news). Some dweeb had a website with a contest to hack and deface webpages. Im not too worried.

i think this is just a way to get headlines for the news agencys.
i read another related story and symatec the makes of norton antivirus say there is no more hacker activity than usual ,somehow they monitor the internet traffic.
