My laptop has developed a problem...

Lets say I'm looking in the "My docs" folder.

When I click on any folder or doc, it selects EVERY folder/file above the chosen one in the window.

Similarly, if I click a file on the desktop, everything above is selected.

I've run Spybot, Adaware, McAfee virus scan, multiple restarts.

Anybody ever seen this before?

This is driving me nuts!

Is your shift key stuck?

I've had my computer do weird things when a key was stuck (not sure which one though)

that's exactly what it's acting like, but as far I can tell the shift key is not stuck....it's not typing in all caps, FWIW

It sounds like your Ctrl key is stuck, not the shift key.

Sticky Keys is a Windows XP "accessibility feature".  It does sound like you may be having problems with it.

Go to Control Panel, click on "accessibility options", (it's the same in either classic or category view mode), and turn off Filter Keys by unchecking the box.  Do the same for Sticky Keys.

Hope this helps...
