PLEASE......It keeps freezing and I have to reboot. This is the fifth time I'am trying to add this topic. I want to have it reformatted, I don't know how to go about, but in the mean time what can I do.

assuming you are running windows 9x or equivalent. You probobly have one of a few problems.
1.Corrupted windows enviornment. Don't worry windows does this to itself all the time.
2.Low on system resources. Check the number of processes running in the back groud to bring up task manager
3. not enough system memory to run the amount of applications you have runnig
4. hard drive is in serious need of a defrag or is begining to fail due to bad sectors. Go to my computer-right click on drive- properties-tools. Click on error checking then defragment when done with scandisk.

If you have it loaded you can also run system monitor and watch system memory, processor usage and file system usage. this may point you to the hangup or bottleneck.

If you are not running a windows enviornment email me with complete system info. hope this helps

BTW Beer Slayer, thanks. I haven't checked that for a long time, there was all kinds of unused garbage running that I'd forgotten all about.

(I need you next door!)

Thanks to The Beer Slayer, so far so good. Uninstalled AOL 6.0. Reinstalled 4.0. No freezing as of yet.

Take everything out of the startup and system tray.  Beyond that, try to figure out what you are running that causes the lockup.  You can also restore an old copy of the registry if you are desparate.  Conact me at [email protected] if you are still having problems.
