Stayed home last night and handed out candy. About half of them were kids I deemed too old to trick-or-treat, but I played along, I have different plans for next year, this stuff's getting out of hand. However, the worst thing I saw last night was not the 17 year olds begging for candy... it was a kid who couldn't have been older than 12... Kid is chubby... well, chubby is a kind word. The kid was probably a good 70+ pounds overweight, very heavy. I don't blame him for this, mind you, his parents are the problem. He came to our door and I heard some scuffling about on the front porch after he knocked. Turns out some other kids had dropped some candy on the porch and he was busily scooping it up. He told me so when I opened the door, and before saying "trick-or-treat"... come to think of it, I don't think he ever actually said those words. He was alone, no other kids with him. At his age, that's just sad. Even his parents weren't walking with him... they were sitting in a nice car, idling at the end of my driveway. The worst thing? When he said thank-you and walked down the drive, he got into the car, they drove to the next house, and he got out again to knock on the neighbors door... all the way down the street. WTF? No wonder the kid is 70+ lbs overweight. They won't even make him walk for his halloween candy. The FSA is strong in this one... |

Every year I am amazed by the 10-12 year olds wearing "sexy" costumes. Yep, I was pleased by this as well in my AO. I saw a few Dorthys, archer girls (Robin Hood type), princesses in nice dress, and one Spiderwoman. I can't think of one sexy Zombie or valley girl like in years past... |
