I want to quit cigs. Pack a day marb. light.
After some reading here and other places I'm pretty overwhelmed. It's not that I can't do coils and whatnot, it's that I don't want to buy a torch and tester and a bunch of other stuff that makes this stupid expensive and time consuming, just to find out I hate it and I'm smoking marbs again next week. I know it'll probably turn into it, but I don't want another hobby.
I saw http://www.discountvapers.com/kanger-evod-kit-black-1/ suggested here. Seems like I can't go wrong for ~$50. Easy peasy plug and play. better options? Say for $100ish or less. |
|
If I had to start over again I would grab
This Then find a local shop where I could try some different flavors. When I found the flavor juice I liked I would order some from. Here after a week with this setup and I still liked vaping then I would move on to better gear. If it is not for you then you are only out $30. YMMV BTW the kit you posted is about $15 too much they have the same on fleebay for $30 Here |
|
It never hurts to look but my guess is that the evod kit in a local shop will be $59 and everything else will be 30-50% more than you can get online delivered.
The first kit I posted comes with a protank 2 mini that sells for $20 in my local shop and they want $19 for the cheaper batteries. |

Honestly.. Go to the local B&M store, buy the EVOD kit and pick up a couple of extra coils and a tank. Try out the juices they have, and choose a couple.
Yes, it costs more money. But really, as an ex smoker myself, it was always about instant gratification. You'll be ahead in the long run. The price isn't great, but when I finally pulled the trigger on it, I justified it by the notion I helped out a local business. Kick the habit sooner than later. JMHO. |

Spot on. I have 3 local ecig shops pretty close by, and I still buy all my stuff online. They dont even compare, price wise. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Quoted:

Basically the same deal as my LGS then.

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I'll go to the one near me and try some of the juices. If I find one I like, I'll buy a bottle at the higher price, then order a larger quantity at a decent price over the net. They are providing me a service, and it seems only fair. With that being said, I always leave the shop feeling like I got screwed (and not in a GOOD way). |

I would probably stomach a higher price to get started, and then go to online for resupplying. |

$50 with 5 replacement coils and two juices. My asshole hurts.
http://i.imgur.com/bDwDub2.jpg Still not bad at all, IMO. More importantly, what do you think of it all? |
|
I like it. I got a custard and a blueberry 18mg nicotine.
I'm gonna order another battery and some more juices in a bit. Guy was cool. I walked in and said eBay $17 blah blah. He laughed and said he can't touch those prices rent overhead blah blah. He was straight up about it, so I paid whatever, no problem. Probably never go back though.

Oh, it only came with 1 battery? Damn. I assumed it came with 2.
Ah well, fuck it. Over time, you'll save a shit load of money with this stuff, compared to smoking, anyway. Especially since NY is probably the worst state for smokers in the whole country. $10 packs. Fuck that noise. |

Did you already order? If not, I recommend Sony VTC5 batteries. Not that the efest are bad at all. The Sonys just have a higher mah and last longer, and I'm not sure what the amp rating is on the efests, which matters, if you want to get into sub-ohm in the future. The VTC5s are great for that.
Other than that, yeah man, just a charger, some cotton and some kanthal wire. Here is where I get my wire: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kanthal-A1-AWG-Gauge-26-28-30-32-34-Sizes-25-50100-250-500-100-Best-Price-/281164962063 (I use 28ga in my Kayfuns.) Cottonballs can be picked up damn near anywhere. |

Haven't ordered yet. Thanks. A buddy recommended a nemesis clone the other day, so I'm still debating... Ordered a bunch of juices from mt. baker though. 17.76% off. Hell yeah, man. Good stuff. I love me some MBV, and have been ordering from them for almost 2 years now. I have a Nemesis clone and Tree of Life clone. Both are great. I like the Tree of Life clone a little better, just because of the switch. But you can't go wrong with either one. I think everyone in this subforum has at least 1 Nemesis.
|
|
I would go:
nemesis VTC5 or purple 35 amp Efest 2500 mah and a kayfun lite + v2 linky here |
|
Ok then nemesis it is. The better batteries too.
Any reason to buy that clone kayfun for $30? Seen one for $16 on fastech. Is this one crap? They've got a nemesis for $25 and 2 batteries for $20. http://www.fasttech.com/shoppingcart |

Came here for help. Got some good info. Would this be a bad place to start? Thanks!
|
|
I can't speak to the fasttech kayfun clone as I haven't used one. I do have the one I linked from ebay though (as well as a few others). The link I provided is my favorite tank at present so I would go that route even though it is almost double the price. You'll also have it in a few days vs 3 weeks from fasttech.

I ordered http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nemesis-Kayfun-Lite-Mechanical-Mod-Combo-Clone-Stainless-Steel-Vaporizer-APV-/171352443602?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160
I'm being cheap, trying to make up for my initial raping.
Got two sony batteries, a nitecore charger, and enough wire to redo my whole neighborhood. Got a multimeter in my box at work to bring home and use if I remember I guess. Not buying another one.
Spent about 150 on everything (both setups and the juices) so far. Haven't had any real smokes since tuesday afternoon. |

Been doing more reading...
so I'll have ten 15ml bottles of juice with 18mg nic because I ordered not planning on going the mech route. From what I've read, that's basically gonna get me high as a kite on nicotine if I use that in a kayfun. Soooooo... Of course I'll try it, but I should just order Thor same flavors in a larger size with no nic to dilute it.
Right? Either way I'll need a much lower nic % for a kayfun? |

Right? Either way I'll need a much lower nic % for a kayfun? All I use in my Kayfuns is 18mg nic. Doesnt bother me. Seems to be the perfect middle ground for me. Id wait on ordering more juice to dilute it. You probably wont need to. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
