So I'm looking through my latest catalog & come to page 107, the start of the outdoor section, which has flags & flag poles on it. I'm reading the descriptions & notice that every single item with a US flag has a disclaimer stating "NOT AVAILABLE IN MINNESOTA". I'm like WTF, why not?! Did Minnesota all of a sudden split it's ties with the US of A? Why the hell won't they ship a US flag to a state of the US?
ETA: Even say that on their website pages.

I won't link to DU (where I found it) but it is state law that only made in USA US flags can be sold there. Which law? (I'm off to google when I hit "submit" to look) Found it: Sec. 2. [325E.65] SALE OF AMERICAN FLAGS.
No person in the business of offering goods at retail may sell or offer for sale in this state an American flag unless the flag was manufactured in the United States of America. EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective January 1, 2008. I'd be interested to find out if this includes previous versions of the flag. |
