Sockets, jacks, stands, oil collection, and so on. Good stuff. Just don't buy the welders or electric stuff!
Waiting for them to open now..... |

For us average folks that don't rely on it for our livelihood...nothing wrong with it. Expendable stuff... This. Not when it wont work out of the box. Some of their stuff is great other stuff not so much. They have the best deal around on nitrile gloves and ear muffs, other things with moving parts I wouldn't really trust. |

Got the $15 4.5" angle grinder. Fine. Got the cheapass sawzall wannabe, it's fine too. Got their electric impact wrench, and was expecting trouble, but it's popped every nut I've tried it on.
You just need to check the reviews, do a little research, and avoid the real shit. Some of it is great. |

Pick me up five or six packs of those little epoxy's would you? Their epoxy sucks, it wasn't too bad before but now it's unusable. Overall I like harbor freight for certain stuff like Allen wrenches, hammers, punches, aka stuff that is hard to screw up. |

Clean out the nasty, smelly, stringy grease they ship with and replace with a good quality grease. Otherwise those are great little grinders for the price. |

Never had a problem with any of their electric tools.
I still have an 18 volt drill from back in the days when they were just plain old orange drills with no brake. It's probably 10-15 years old. It still holds a charge perfectly and works 100%. Can't say the same for the Craftman drills I got got Christmas a few years later. |

Drove an hour up to IN to go to one somewhat locally. I bought one of their AL cargo carriers. Couldn't beat the price and it seems to be made well enough. Only one complaint, the tube on the rack only had one bolt hole drilled for the mounting bar. I had to maths and that's hard. Oh well, I got it drilled out in about 5 minutes...if that. I like some of their stuff and will continue to give them my money on some of their products. |

I haven't even been satisfied by the stuff that you think would be hard to fuck-up; I purchased a set of letter punches to mark brass keys and they rounded over after ~100 strikes
I purchased a rubber mallet and the head flew off I purchased a workbench that arrived in so many pieces that it took a couple weekends to get it together - and the drawers don't work
I purchased some plastic zip-ties that would unzip if you applied even a modest amount of pressure to them. Personally I am done with "Hazard Fraught Tools" |

I used a high-pressure bearing grease in mine, but I'd bet that it would last just as long with a regular chassis grease. |

The new one in Southaven? I've driven by it dozens of times but still haven't stopped in. Every Tuesday there has been a coupon flyer in with the grocery store sale papers.
A few days ago, I was made aware that we have a Harbor Freight store here. Never knew. Gonna check them out in the next few days. |

Thanks for posting |

I needed to put a roof on my house a year ago, about 25 square. My 20 year old Bostich nailer had a seal start leaking and it was going to be expensive/time consuming to fix.
Went to HF and for less than $100 bought a roofing nailer that was actually very nice, lightweight and worked well. I did have a little more trouble with it than with the Bostich (once in awhile a nail would need to be smacked in the final bit with a hammer) but for the most part worked great. |

Not when it wont work out of the box. Some of their stuff is great other stuff not so much. They have the best deal around on nitrile gloves and ear muffs, other things with moving parts I wouldn't really trust. How durable are those HF nitrile gloves? I usually get the Gator-Skin brand because they are the only ones I have found that holds up well. |

Great, we use the extreme heavy duty 11mil for solvent based stained and use them more than once before tossing them. The main problem is that they are so popular they are often out and I have to get the heavy duty gloves which do okay. They aren't super puncture resistant but for working with stain and lacquer they fit our needs well. I haven't found anything comparable at the price. |

Something you don't buy at HF.

The tools I need are typical homeowner type stuff. I buy tools when I need them, and when that happens, I run out to Lowes. I like their Kobalt brand. Seems good quality and not expensive. I have some Craftsman as well, and it's about the same.
I'm a purchasing agent, and had a Snap On guy come in to see me yesterday. The truck comes by to see the guys who order direct, but this guy wanted to set us up for a buisness account, too. After he left, I was looking through the catalog. I heard they were expensive, but HOLY HELL! A $50 screwdriver? Really? Because you can attach a lanyard to it? And it doesn't even come with the lanyard? You have to be fucking kidding me. Listen, I know....some people make a living with their tools and need quality, but come on. |
I'm going to return it shortly.
