Hurts like a MF.  Some part of me was hanging in the way and both magnets got to it.  It look me about 10mins to pull them a part.  The aftermath was not good...

Wear loose pleated pants.

Place one magnet in each front pocket

Go for a walk.

Happened to a guy at IBM. He hit the floor.

I took apart an old HD to dispose of the platters and I thought that it would be cool to keep the extremely strong magnets.  I quickly learned that strong HD magnets do not go well with exposed fleash...

Neodymium magnets kick ass.   Until your finger comes between them.     I haven't done it yet but i have seen it happen.

Get yours before the chicoms cut off the supply of rare earth.

I used a couple this year to stick Christmas wreaths to glass storm doors.

Don't put them near computers or monitors, TV screens.

Mine will stick my G20 to the refrigerator. To stick it to the bottom of a table might take two. Then there would be the problem of removing it in a timely fashion if you needed it.

Then you might want to stay away from this one

IBM 4967 drive from a Series/1 minicomputer, weighs probably around 175lbs when complete - the frame, platters, and motor in the pic probably still weigh 125+.
200MB capacity.

We use the heck out of Neodymium Magnets.  Sometimes 4 x 250lb pull at a time.  Definitely an item you must exercise extreme caution with.

Knew a guy who hung out with the IT guys a bit too much.  He took two of HD magnets and wanted to wear them as an earring as a joke.

I was told he hit the ground and just looked up and said, "Help me."

He was Army Reserve, if anyone keeps track of such things.

Yes they are strong.

No, you are not supposed to put them on your man bits.

Used two old harddrive magnets to build a GPS antenna mount for my truck. It isn't going anywhere.
