Have a Colt Trooper MKIII that I want to get redone. It's a nickel finish, I see alot of hard chrome finish out there. Whats the difference? Anyone have an idea on where to get it done?

Thanks

I heard the nickel is softer, does'nt last as long. Good enough for me I only hard chrome, blue or parkerise(spelling).

Do you want a bright shiny finish, or a hard durable finish?

Decorative nickel or chrome doesn't compare to the durability of a good hard chrome plating.

Hard chrome is just that: Much harder than the nickel finish. It is more resistant to scratches and abrasions, as Chrome is one of the hardest substances on earth.

A nice polished hard chrome finish would look good on that Colt. '

AP&W does a good job with refinishes.

For sure!!! I bought it used about 16 years ago (my first pistol). The finish was never the best. It's accurate as hell...I owe it to her

Accurate Plating again.

Bob Cogan is the king of chrome.

Have had two handguns done by AP&W. Excellent work.
