First, there was that witch movie... Then, they made Cloverfield. Now this? Hollywood, YU want me motion sick???????? Was was that movie that came out recently with the 40+ frame rate? Looked like shit and people mentioned having to leave the theatre to puke. Making movies more like your vidya jams has only ever resulted as such. |

Saw it today.
It was like having a bomb go off in my face. Crazy Russians cranking everything up past 11. More blood and carnage than anything else I have ever seen. Not completely incoherent though. At least not for me. Showed extensive signs of video game influence. "Go here, get the thing. Go there, fight bad guys all along the way. Keep an eye on the guy who keeps popping up." I don't know how I feel about the movie. At the moment all I can say is that if you liked Mad Max Fury Road you might like this. |

I'm usually not one to get motion sickness but a whole movie of that feels like a vomit comet. I imagine the movie is not that "hardcore" for the majority of its running time... because if it is then damn, that is a lot of motion for such a large screen. Oh there is quite a bit of motion, believe me. |

It's different but IMO first person movies are going to flop like 3D movies. Except porn has shown us that POV film has a market, and 3D shit has gotten very prevalent. They make 3D TV's now, so what you're really saying, is POV film is the next big thing since 3D? |

Was thinking the same damn thing. That video was awesome, but, dunno if I could sit through an hour of it. Quoted:

Even worse. There won't be many beyond this turd. Once again, anything to avoid an original PLOT. Quoted:

watched it last night, I thought it was fun. There is a fight at the end, and that was the only part where I had to close one eye, and try to focus on one thing. My eyes were tired after watching it (also could of been the 1020pm showing too).
The FOOKIN PRAWNS guy was awesome in it, and it was pretty fucking violent |
|
I definite will see it. My take on filmmaking like this, is that it's not meant as high-art. It's meant to be very, very different, from HOW it's filmed, to what it looks like,
To the fact that the leading man is literally "nobody", and good quality B-listers make up the rest. |
|
I saw it - treat it like a ride at Universal Studios - don't expect Steven Spiellburg - but just enjoy the ride and some of its violence and lots of Russian Gun play.
Loved the GP-25 scene toward the end. The violence was so over the top it was laughable at times. The James Bond style Intro with knives poking through necks and bullets penetrating heads - was just something beyond normal violene that it couldn't be taken seriously. The guy who kept on dying - even funnier. |

Lol that article is derp. 3D was debuted too early and was put on hold for 4K. As the article touched on but didn't understand, active glasses 3D is a hassle and expensive. You are splitting an image in "half" to accomplish 3D, so a HD image would no longer be so. There is technology on the horizon enabled by 4K offering 3D without the glasses or image quality degradation. They debuted it as soon as the technology presented itself. However that didn't make it market ready, especially on the cusp of 4K. |
