Hello,

I had a hankering for some old games,
so I fired up my '95 machine. I can't
get any sound from Descent I or II.
Same thing with my '98 desktop.

I have looked everywhere & I don't
find anything muted, or turned off.
I still get my Windows sounds though.

Can someone make some suggestions?

Thanks!

Reload the games and make sure it sees the sound card driver, reinstall Direct X too

Delta,
I was able to load the shareware version &
Direct X and the sound now works.

My next question is I'm using a keyboard
controlled Joystick, Suncom F-15E Talon,
which causes the scenes to jump around.
The faq mentions using -joypolled at the
command line prompt. I know that I have
done that before, but I can't remember
how to do that now. Do you know?

Or will some current joystick work with
this game, but without this issue?

Thanks again!

I am assuming the standard Microsoft style joystick will work with game itself,  To be honest any flight simulator style joystick should work well.

Thanks again!

Hope this helps, I used to play the Janes Fighters, F15 eagle ect...with a standard flight simulator joystick and it worked just fine.
