When Sergeant Hasan Akbar killed the Army Captain and Air Force Major as noted H E R E , he wounded several other soldiers.

Did the attack count as hostile actions by an enemy combatant or as a "Friendly Fire" incident?  Did the 14 wounded soldiers receive Purple Hearts?

I just wonder how the event is categorized within the context of the DoD.  Is he classified as a "sleeper agent" or just a rogue soldier gone crazy?

The incident was not deemed a terrorist attack, the Pentagon claims that Akbar was just a criminal and not an enemy, and therefore the Purple Hearts could not be awarded.

Akbar should have been award the brass metal on the spot.  Traitor and terrorist.

Yeah, I never understood how he was taken alive.

You'd think that someone that just threw grenades into occupied tents would have the remainder of survivors beating him to death.
