My old Resistol has been hanging in the garage for a while and has picked up a good layer of dust.  Is there an easy way to clean this at home or should I just take it in and have it cleaned.?

And yes, I did try wiping it down but that just seemed to make it worse.

Just a baseball cap?

Toss it in the washing machine. Tumble dry on low.

This  –– either on line or from a western wear shop that does good hats

ETA:  If it is really bad would a lint roller for suits do anything useful?

You can use a soft, dry, washcloth...wipe in a counter clockwise direction while looking at the interior of the hat....

Always go counterclockwise as that is the direction of the felt fibers...

Clockwise for the top....

I own a few....

Also cleaned hats while in college for a saddle shop....You can't tell by mine though....

Ah. Didn't even notice you said Resistol, was just going off the previous poster's pic.

This was a lot easier when you could buy carbon tetrachloride at the grocery store.
