Thought I'd share some pics of what it's like to haul cryogenics.  I'm a local driver, so I drive a daycab and never drive more than 500 miles a day. Some days it's less than 100.

This is the back of the trailer. Lots of valves, but it's all pretty simple.

Hooked up to load. I'll load around 47,000lbs or 7,000 gallons.

Almost perfect.

This is one of the customer tanks.  It is 15,000 gallons and there are five of them here. I will be filling 2 at the same time with this delivery.

Hooked up and ready to deliver.

These are the valves on the tank.  There is a top fill and a bottom fill.  By opening the top fill a little we can control the pressure in the tank.  The liquid going on the top cools the vapor and brings the pressuredown.

Pumping

We use a pressure builder (vaporizer) on the trailer to maintain positive pressure during the delivery.

Delivery done and draining the fill line and hose.

Now I am getting somewhere.

Thank you for trying to help!

Do you make more hauling than that than a non hazardous material?

I do remember the fog coming off of the frozen lines to the tank.

At night, with the truckers lights on, it was spooky.

Stuff is awesome to work with, HET here. Use to use it to shrink bearings before installing them
on cylinders.

I guess we make more. At our terminal most drivers earn between $100k and $120k.  The key to trucking is to pick a specialty.  Whether that's tanker, oversize, or LTL.   Just something besides regular box van.
Cryo companies are pretty picky about their drivers.  They want a couple years experience driving a tanker and a spotless driving record.

OP, you work for Matheson? We use it in cell manufacturing. I deal with it every day.

Not Matheson, but I do load at one of their plants occasionally if our plant goes down.

I’m 100% sure that I’ve blown by you on the Turner and other highways.  Judging by the Chart sticker, guessing you run out of Tulsa.

Thanks for posting this, i walk by a heat treatment place a couple times a day and they get their huge Liquid nitrogen tank refilled every so often. I have been curious as to what the process is.

The air.  We call our plants "air separation units". Someone smarter and more knowledgeable could tell you the process, but not me.
