September 11. It sounds innocuous enough, doesn't it? A month and a number. Put them together, and you have a date on a calendar. What year? Every year. It is rather unfortunate that this innocuous name was attached to an event of such significance. For in the last six years, far too many of us have forgotten what happened that late summer morning. As long as the A/C and Cable TV still worked, the sheep shifted their attention back to "American Idol," "24," and a general state of blissful ignorance. What is even more unfortunate, is that so many people never understood, nor WANTED to understand what happened that morning, having been duped into that state by those who exploited this event to further their own anti-capitalist, anti-western, and indeed anti-American agenda. Far more dangerous than the sheep, Leftists have shown a WILLFUL ignorance of the world in general, and the intentions of Islam in particular. I grew up in South East Asia. From an early age, I was exposed to cultures that were defined predominately by their Muslim faith. I came to learn about their customs, and observed many of them first hand. What I saw clashes with the rosy picture that the leftist mainstream media paints in their attempt to keep the masses in the dark. I saw cultures that preserved ancient customs for all the wrong reasons. Cultures that continue to be stuck in the middle ages. I watched as so-called "peaceful followers" of the so-called "Religion of Peace" torch neighboring villages for no other reason than the fact that they were predominately Christian or Buddhist in their faith. Make no mistake: the world is in an ideological war. On one side is Western and Modern Civilization. On the other, radical Islam, Communism, and its younger sibling Socialism. Despite the machinations of leftists over the years, America has succeeded in putting Communism on its last legs. However, she has been unable to stop the cancer known as leftism that is affecting us from within. Leftists have attempted to bring down America from within, by exalting non-existent superiorities of other cultures (Multiculturalism) and other systems of government (Globalism). These alone have done far more damage than radical Islam could hope to achieve on its own. In truth, the greatest enemy is within. I once took an oath; that I would support and defend the United States from ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic. Today, on September 11, 2007, I reaffirm that oath. |
