[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Have you noticed.... (Page 1 of 2)

That there are MANY "Ladies/women I need help" type threads... but I don't think I've EVER see (in GD, for instance) any "Men of Arfcom, I need help!"...not that guys/women don't ASK for an assist there... they just don't PHRASE it that way.... Hmmm.... Just struck me as interesting. |
|
They come here knowing we'll give them real advice. We don't go there looking for advice b/c we're not stupid, nor are we gluttons for punishment. Just look at the difference between our thread of 'Men, why we love them' and their 'Women, why we love them'. Ours is filled with actual reasons and qualities, theirs is 'bewbies, i like pie, b/c they make sammiches'. Men, I tell ya. ![]() The much weaker sex. |
|
That's because unlike the women's forum, GD is filled with 10 year old's masquerading as adults. Anyone that expects a decent intelligent answer from there is either new or stupid. |
Enlighten me in the truth, O Master DoubleFeed... |
lol...somehow i don't see anything elightening coming from that
|
|
![]() Funny, but DF's probably got the best answer here. Guys don't get into "sensitive feelings" talks with other guys. (Well, maybe homosexual men do, I would guess.) |
HEY!! ![]() I thought you were going to enlighten us with a solid response. What happened? Can't think of anything? |
You are most likely on to something here! As far as posting a question in GD, I have had pretty good success with questions of a technical nature, but would never think about posting any personal or character type questions. Why bother when you know the majority of responses are going to be useless immature spew. Basically, it would be like proposing the same question to a group of 4 year olds. |
We have plenty to say. We just aren't going to turn gay to say it.
|
If you want a 'guy' answer to a 'girl' question, just post it here in the women's forum, and we'll find it. (and ignore any answer you get after the first page, because by then all of GD will be queued up to give 'advice'). |
This is true. Most of you that post here are just women in the making, anyway. Well, except for Sarge. ![]() |
|
No offense to anyone here, but I would never post "relationship" questions on an internet web-site. If I feel close to someone here, I might IM them with the question, but opening yourself up like that on the internet is just asking for trouble. And isn't that what we have girlfriends for, anyway? And post it in GD? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I don't even post cat threads there anymore. |
Post the question in general terms, and then use the resultant IM's to get into specifics. Works for me. YMMV. |
Ok, and you, DF. Don't take it personally, you know what i mean. The guys that post in here aren't afraid to be seen in the wimmenz forum. You respect us and our opnions. Like the other women around here. |
CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
um, no. CAT. SEE? that's why I don't post about cats. |
|
It's a cat. Watch it Df, I'll tell all the boys that you have "feelings". |
Don't do that. You wouldn't want to ruin his reputation around GD!! |
Eh, he knows it's just a veiled threat. I would never do that. |
You make a very good point. I don't post my personal stuff on here especially in GD. You're just asking for trouble when you post anything in GD. Mona |
Nothing so personal I would not mind if the world knew goes in here. That's just common sense. I think we can post in GD...just gotta remember what you're dealing with. If you can slap on some kevlar, by all means, speak your mind (I have...and in truth have either been ignored or killed threads with unemotional posts more often than I have been flamed.) Just gotta forget you're a girl in there...or use it to your advantage! |

the real answer, as written by a man Artist: Toby Keith Album: Greatest Hits 2 Title: I Wanna Talk About Me We talk about your work how your boss is a jerk We talk about your church and your head when it hurts We talk about the troubles you've been having with your brother About your daddy and your mother and your crazy ex-lover We talk about your friends and the places that you've been We talk about your skin and the dimples on your chin The polish on your toes and the run in your hose And God knows we're gonna talk about your clothes You know talking about you makes me smile But every once in awhile I wanna talk about me Wanna talk about I Wanna talk about number one Oh my me my What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see I like talking about you, usually, but occassionally I wanna talk about me I wanna talk about me We talk about your dreams and we talk about your schemes your high school team and your moisturizer creme We talk about your nanna up in Muncie, Indiana We talk about your grandma down in Alabama We talk about your guys of every shape and size The ones that you despise and the ones you idolize We talk about your heart, about your brains and your smarts And your medical charts and where you start You know talking about you makes me grin But every now and then I wanna talk about me Wanna talk about I Wanna talk about number one Oh my me my What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see I like talking about you, usually, but occassionally I wanna talk about me I wanna talk about me You you you you you you you you youyouyouyouyou I wanna talk about me I wanna talk about me Wanna talk about I Wanna talk about number one Oh my me my What I think, what I like, what I know, what I want, what I see I like talking about you, usually, but occassionally I wanna talk about me I wanna talk about me

The way I see it, is if you're having problems in your relationship, you should be talking to your significant other, not a faceless screen name hundreds of miles away. I understand the whole anonymity thing that may appeal to some people, but I respect my boyfriend and our relationship too much to drag our dirty laundry through cyberspace, only to have immature people troll in the thread and make me feel worse than I felt when I originally posted. I have pretty thick skin, and can post my thoughts and feelings as well as the next girl in GD. But I won't subject my personal feelings and my relationship issues to the scrutiny of pre pubescent video game playing keyboard commandos who have never HAD a relationship with anything more substantial than a blowup doll. |
Could not have said it better myself! Bravo Daisy! |
Yeah! What she said! |
Don't hold back daisy! Tell us what you really think! |
Eh, I'm pretty "open book" I am what/who I am - don't like it - bugger off. ![]() Does this mean I'd post ANYTHING here? No. Does it mean I'd post MOST anything here? Yup. And, IMO, even in GD, there are FAR more "good folk" than asshats. And WTF do I care of an asshats' opinion??? I only care about the opinion of the good folk, and theirs only to a point. ![]() And yup... I've certainly been a "killer of threads" I don't THINK they (the asshats) tend to KNOW how to fight against facts and/or common sense. (My fav was when someone was griping about how "overrepresented" gays were on TV "nowadays" So, I just crunched the #'s, using "standard cable" as a "norm" and going WAY "conservative" on EVERYTHING else... so "we" (gays) IF we are ONLY 1% of the population (which I don't "buy") there should be 67 "gay" or "lesbian" characters on tv for just "realistic representation". IF one "counts" the 2 "Queer Eye" casts (9) there are currently 27 ..... totally killed that thread. Not ALL of those griping were asshats, BTW, but a couple were/are. Some just ... when you go from NONE to 27 in just a few years it SEEMS really "extreme" is all. And the PERCEPTION is that there ARE "too many" ... then crunch the #'s... and reality sets in....

This is SO worth quoting again. And it's not just the pre pubes either, it spans all age groups of men who have little clue how to communicate effectively with another human, let alone maintain a healthy relationship with one. Also, it would make more sense to me if it was called Generalization Discussion... |
![]() So true, but still funny. |
