Does anyone know of a good place to send a small part to be digitized so that I can get it slightly lengthened?
I've got a part that's about 3 1/2" long, and about 1 1/2" wide that needs to be lengthened by approximately 3/8".
It would be easy to get it manufactured once I get it digitized, and I have the material for it.

How much is the part worth? You will be paying quite a bit to send it to someone that will do the same thing as you, sitting with a set a calipers measuring and then creating a 3D model.

IMHO, measure it all out and stretch the dimensions where you need them stretched. Draw that out on a piece of paper and you've got what you need to have the part made by someone with the tools to make it.

I just got back from a local machining company, and they said the same thing.
I'll give the trace and stretch method a try, it's the simplest way to do it.

Show a photo so the complexity of the part can be judged.

Keep your powder dry, and watch your back trail.

I'm watching my back trail.

I went to a local machine shop, and for one item, it's not worth their time.
I broke out the dy-chem and traced the original onto new material, lengthened it, and then formed it using a band saw, angle grinder, and Dremel.
It turned out well, and only took about three hours.  I'll put it into a vibratory tumbler for the final touch.
