Looking to install a new head unit in a 2000 Tiburon.
The head unit I bought including a wiring harness, and I just picked up the dash Single Din adapter. Question I have, do they make a plug and go wiring kit? As in, a plug that goes into the OEM plug, to convert to the aftermarket plug? The wiring harness that came with the kit is simply a wired aftermarket plug, so I was planning to just cut the OEM plug off and wire it in. But the dash kit says they make an adapter, which sounds much less painful to me. Any suggestions? |

Find the Metra wiring harness adapter for that vehicle. It will plug into the vehicle side terminal and leave loose wires that you match up one by one to the loose wires from the head unit wiring harness.
Relax, take your time and follow the color code schematic that came with the Metra adapter. Use crimp butt splice connectors or solder, whichever you're better at. The crimp connectors will be faster. Be sure to use the correct tool to crimp them. I think they don't make plug and play because the vehicle to head unit possibilities are endless. |
