| I'm in the market for some new hearing protection. In the past I've used everything from foam earplugs to cheap muffs. Right now I am looking at the Surefire EP3 plugs they seem to be nice and compact allow some sound through while still protecting your hearing. So what are your recommedations for good hearing protection. |

I've had simply outstanding results with the Peltor Tac-7. Allows me to hear EVERYTHING going on around me but locks down tight when things get loud. I use a low profile Tac-6 model on rifles when the larger profile Tac-7s won't let me get a good cheek weld. Not as much noise reduction as the 7's but enough. |
| I was buying some stuff today on Grafs' website and I saw that they have a new Peltor "Tactical PTL" electronic muff that is $35. Grafs didn't have any info on it so I called Peltor. They said it is a new "push to listen" model that is NRR25DB. Looks interesting and it has better noise reduction than their Tac 6. |
Sounds like a good idea until someone lights off a .50 while you have the button pushed. |
