Heart was a great band for the first few years, but started to stink after guitarist Roger Fisher left the band. You can tell the difference in the sound pre- and post-Fisher. The guitar sound is a lot more in your face, more explicit if you will, on songs like "Barracuda", "Magic Man", and "Crazy On You". There's also two versions of the song "Heartless" from Magazine. The original release was more stark (e.g. better IMHO) while the post-litigious release more of a "produced" studio sound. It is no coincidence that the lovely Ann turned into a Rosie O'Donnel clone after their great guitarist left the band. |
