Hello from RI, I hear this is the place to go for all your AR info.
I've been thinking about buying an M&P MOE but wanted to do some research before I do anything. It would mostly be for recreational/target shooting so feel free to recommend anything. BTW... not sure if I posted in the right forum.

Personally if I were in the market to purchase an AR right now I would give the Daniel Defense M4 a VERY hard look. I think it's one of the best deals on the market right now. |

Anyhow, as you will soon find out I am THE most AWESOME MAN on this forum.  First you'll hate me because of jealousy, then you'll wish you could be me, then you'll start sending me death threats and animal parts. Then again at some point you'll realize that you'll never be me and start offering me women sacrifices. If you do that be VERY discreet.

Welcome! First of all, good choice on rifles.  Second, don't try to file down the firing pin. It wears out the file (unless diamond file) and renders the rifle totally inoperative  We like to think of ourselves as a nice, happy family. But we are not  Just remember, real chili has no beans, they are a side dish. If you are ever wondering to get A or B, get both. Arock is a banned member who is our token whipping boy. He took a spat here into real life, causing a few people serious problems with their employer/employment. |

In all honesty, I would consider that a much better value for the money. The quality of the DD builds meets or exceeds Colt's standards. Daniel Defense consulted a genuine expert on the M4 when building the gun, and they actually paid attention to what he told them. For the money they are, in my estimation, the best carbine you can buy off the shelf. The M&P's aren't bad, but I don't think they are in the same ballpark as the DD guns. If you can possibly spare the extra cash to buy one, I'd strongly suggest giving it a shot. |
