Probably going to stick with a SATA2 interface. My price range is about $250.

I know some manufacturers had/have some issues and I haven't been keeping up with all of that. I am leaning towards an Intel drive but I will consult the hive mind.

Intel, SATA II will bottleneck anything faster.

I have no first hand experience but it seems that a lot of what I have been reading in magazines and online Corsair brand is highly regarded. I am purchasing my first SSD drive in about a week and am really looking forward to seeing the difference. I can't wait until SSDs are mainstream and cheap like HDD space is now. Backing up info speed as well as building storage RAIDs will be leaps and bounds over read/write speeds now.
