| I am trying to set up my bosses Outlook Express 6 with his yahoo account. I have tried setting the out going port at the 2 settings suggested 995 and 587. I have the incoming port set at 465. I can neither send nor receive email through OE I get this notification every time (The server does not support a SSL connection. Account: 'pop3.yahoo.com', Server: 'plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D) what do I need to? |

still not working, but I appreciate the effort what antivirus are you using? using odd ports, sometimes antivirus/ firewall will block them He does not know if they have an antivirus program on here and I can not find anything outside the Windows firewall etc. I am getting this message failure now The Serever you are connected to is using a security certificate that can not be verified A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the provider |

this is yet another set of Port numbers, but they dont work either, thank you though |

Talk him into using Thunderbird.
And if he has no AV on there at least put AVG free on it or something. www.free.avg.com http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&y=PROD_MAIL_CLASSIC&locale=en_US&id=SLN3219&pir=st9MXl5ibUl1O5fsTaVOUYFGogCpUkJ3JONAwrA0e2luIK2NxP3K4EgxyZIrmKSY9uVxq6UhbeQNmSKhBeDPTTXyTfzWBg–– He has Plus? "Please note: this feature is available only to Mail Plus subscribers." |

| Yes that is the same, I just tried to set it up for a gmail account and it failed also. He just told me he will "Larry" the IT guy come by next week and do it....... I did not know he had an IT guy..... cheap ass pulled me off of the service bay to work on his computer............ |
This is a GM dealer, he also told me, we do have a "Gm firewall" in the back and pointed to a back closet. I did not go investigate to find out what a "GM firewall" in the back closet was. I was pissed at that point, after finding out he waisted all my time, I spent all evening last night trying to figure this out because he didnt want to pay Larry to come out.

this is what my boss asked me to do.
