| I'm a windows tech. I have been thrown into doing Mac installs, builds, configs, some low level support. I have been really struggling with it. I have to do this 'For Real' on the floor at the Mac User's desk, and I am tired of stumbling around looking like an idiot. I don't have a Mac of mine own, personal or at work. Anyone have some good Mac Support tricks for Windows techs books or websites? |

Before I go help out a Mac user, I download to either a DVD or a flash drive the latest updates to OS X, as well as full installs to Safari, FireFox, Flash, Acrobat, etc. This makes it a lot quicker. Also, learn how to boot into safe mode and what the limitations are when you do. You don't mention which version of the OS you're dealing with or the hardware. That could help narrow things a bit. |

we are rolling out 10.6.4 Snow Leopard right now. Running into all kinds of compatibility issues, and also we are doing Notes upgrade as well. I have already discovered tht Tiger to Snow Leopard combined with notes 6.5 to 8.5 equals = FUCKING HELL!!!
Today's setups went well so far, so I've calmed down a bit. heh. |
