A buddy of mine found this on Google Earth.  Any idea what it is?

A ferry possibly.

Looks like a cargo ship of some sort to me.

ETA: A) How the hell did you locate it? B) Notice the wake? It's kind of erratic, isn't it?

Size and location strongly suggest a ferry.
There is no sea-going cargo traffic that travels up to the east of Whidbey Island and there are ferrys that do.

Ghost ship.

Based on size and shape it is either a ferry/tour boat/passenger boat heading south east to the pier/dock thing.  It looks like you could drive a car on and off the bow.

This is, of course, a pure SWAG.

Post this on hazegray.org and see what they think.

It looked like a houseboat until I measured it. The size along with the flat-front suggests a ferry.

I'm not sure how he found it.  I think he was looking for (and found) the stealth ship out there somewhere.  I think the wake caught his eye.  Can a ferry do that?  I can kinda see how with a nozzle, it could produce a wake pattern without actually gyrating all that much but...

Might be the HSV

and here is my reasoning:

plus to the north east, there is a naval yard with a carrier in it.

Looks like the Sea Fighter, dunno if it is or not though.

I don't know what it is, but the wheel man needs to lay off the booze and drive the boat.  Although I guess there is the old "No white lines, who's gonna hit 'em"

whatever it is, the rudder limit and/or gain on his autopilot is set way too high.

not sure that its the HSV, but there is a company on the eastside of whidbey island that builds catamarans, that maybe one they are testing one, they are Nichols bros. boat builders. they build large catamarans. They are located in freeland on the eastside of Whidbey. They built the sea fighter so im going with that.

Thats it! you can see the pilothouse in the same, offcenter location on google earth. If you look close enough, you can see the marking on the bow also.

I would say Arokie got it.  The location of the wheelhouse on the sat image, and the catamaran he posted look identical.

ETA: eesmith4 beat me to it.
