A poorly mounted Game Stalker. Don't know much about them ![]() can you explain how is it poorly mounted so i can possibly get it mounted properly? Just move that back ring further back to the end of the rail, if you saw a slow-mo of that thing firing, the scope probably whips like a spaghetti noodle. |

Yeah really...the scope rings are supposed to be at the front AND the back of the tube...even then, I don't know how well that base is tapped and mounted onto the receiver...looks...strange... Hope you didn't pay more than $150 for it... |

Quoted: Quoted: I picked up this mosin nagant recently to learn longer range shooting. ![]() This. Went through the same thing with my cousin recently. He bought a stock 91/30 and started talking about putting a scope and bi-pod on it for long range shooting, since Mosins are well known for their accuracy because of their long barrel. ![]() ETA: Your gun is painful to look at, OP. I hope you didn't pay more than $150 for it. |

Tell us what you consider to be "long range". The scope looks like one of a zillion cheap Bushnell's sold over the last 25 years. I guess you'll just have to shoot the rifle to find out how it shoots. 100-200 yards. ive never attempted anything that far before and it seemed relaxing to do. honestly, im not looking for sub-moa-enemy-at-the-gates-head-shot-groupings, just practical grouping. |

I love Mosins, but unfortunately even practical grouping isn't always guaranteed with them. I've had more than one that couldn't consistently hit a 1'x1' target at 50 yards. |

man. this was an impulse buy and im starting to have buyers remorse.. lol Hell, just go out a shoot the dern thing. If it doesn't shoot well you're not out that much - and if it shoots anywhere near where you aim it have fun. Any day out shooting is better than working....... |

http://i747.photobucket.com/albums/xx116/MVolkJ1975/Milsurps/M39/VKT1.jpg Yes, Mosins are just so innacurate. That rifle had to do 1.5MOA at 100 yards or it wasn't accepted for service. The main issue with the Mosin is the surplus ammunition most people shoot through them. It's fine for military purposes but just isn't going to cut it as a target round. Get some good stuff and you might be surprised what even a lowly 91/30 can do. As long as the barrel isn't shot the hell out.
