I'm getting involved in the latest Arfcom Weight Loss Challenge.  I just bought a really nice treadmill and I have a nice Bowflex machine, so I have the tools.

What I need is some help figuring out a workout schedule.  Should I alternate daily between strength training on the bowflex and aerobic work on the treadmill?  Should I be doing both in the same day?  What's the best way to combine the two to maximize what will really amount to one workout a day combined with diet to lose about 47 lbs.

If you do your cardio, as soon as you wake up, prior to eating - it will accelerate your metabolism all day long.  You'll want to do cardio around 5 days a week if you want to slim down.  You can bowflex 4-5 times a week too depending on how you split up your routines. GOOD LUCK!

I'd recommend against doing fasted cardio. Eat something before you do any kind of rigorous physical activity.

I've tried both eating about 30 minutes before my morning workout and not eating anything before my work out.  Can't really tell any difference.  I'm doing a solid 45 minute weight loss routine on the treadmill every day (but Sunday), and working out on the Bowflex every other day.  I was a sore SOB for a couple of days, but my body is catching up.

Weight loss is at least 80 percent nutrition.
